The Blackberry Playbook

The field of technology seems to continue developing at a relentless rate. It seems that every week, some new product will be released that will in some way affect our lives. One item causing a lot of buzz at the moment is the Blackberry Playbook.

RIM, the manufacturers of the extremely popular Blackberry mobile phone devices announced in September that they would be releasing a tablet computer in the New Year. Even though they did not say so in so many words, it will be a direct competitor with Apples iPad.

Information, from places such as UK Net Guide, reveals the Blackberry tablet computer to be a very sophisticated piece of technology. With 1 GB of RAM it promises to be able to deal with more than one application at once, which is where the Apple device falls down.

It also boasts two cameras, which mean that conference calling would be possible, again something that its rival lacks. It is also slightly smaller in size than the Apple device, and would fit with greater ease into a suit pocket.

2011 promises to get off to an amazing start with the release of the Blackberry device, and one wonders just how far the boundaries of technology will be pushed as manufacturers become more competitive in the fields of computers and beyond.
